The local chapters are the backbone of the Military Order of The Stars and Bars. In this section, we spotlight the activities of local chapters.
These members of the BG St. John Richardson Liddell Chapter participated in a Confederate Memorial Service north of Stockton, Al at Bryars Family Cemetery. L-R Army of Tennessee Commander Bert D. Members of the MOS&B MG John Bankhead Magruder Chapter 258 participated in a memorial dedication ceremony on 2 May 2015 for the 2nd Battle of Fredericksburg, VA, the engagement dedication was for the 846 Confederate soldiers that died on The Heights at Smith Run in the city of Fredericksburg, VA in 1864. The ceremony was held on Cowan Boulevard in the City of Fredericksburg. Members that participated were: (from left to right) Vic Cole, Commander Charlie A. Embrey, Sr., “Tex” Wells, John Johnston, Adjutant Christopher Ezelle, Lou Buttgen, III, and Chaplain Robert Hester. The speaker was Christopher H. Ezelle, the Chapter Adjutant, on the battle that occurred at The Heights of Smith Run.
Stuart Morris of Balgonie, and his wife Kelly, were married 20 April 2013 at Balgonie Castle, by Markinch, Fife, KY7 6HQ, Scotland. This marriage is also a symbolic uniting of the 16th and 19th Virginia Cavalry Regiments.
Stuart and Kelly Morris of Balgonie attended the Queen’s Garden Party at the Palace of Holyrood House in Edinburgh. He represented the MOS&B wearing the lapel pin of the Order. (Pins are available from the MOS&B web store)
On Friday, 19 April Compatriot Kirk Barrett of the BG St. John Richardson Liddell Chapter 271 set four flags and placed a Confederate Cross of Honor at the grave of CSA Veteran Captain Gerald B. Hall in the Old Methodist Church Cemetery, Daphne, Alabama.
